Health & Hygiene Education

When we first started gathering children and caregivers under a tin roof in Uganda to talk about handwashing and safe water, we realized something simple: when a child understands why health matters, their whole future starts to shift. Our Health & Hygiene Education workshops carry that same heartbeat today.

We design each session to feel less like a lecture and more like a conversation around the family table. Children learn through storytelling, role play, and demonstrations-how to wash their hands properly, keep drinking water safe, protect themselves from common illnesses, and care for their growing bodies with dignity. Parents and caregivers sit alongside them, picking up practical tips they can use the very same day at home, church, or school.

A key part of this work is our Health Awareness Sessions, interactive gatherings where we talk openly about topics many families were never taught themselves: basic disease prevention, menstrual hygiene for girls, nutrition basics, and when to seek medical help. We've seen grandparents proudly model new habits, and shy children become classroom "health champions," reminding their friends to wash their hands before eating.

Behind every activity is our faith conviction that each child's body is a temple and a gift. When a community understands simple health and hygiene practices, fewer children fall sick, miss school, or suffer silently from preventable conditions. Caregivers spend less time and money chasing medical crises and more time nurturing their children's potential.
